Civil evenings across the country in 2017
Together with the member organizations of Civilization, the 25-year-old Ökotárs Foundation launched a country tour in October 2017. The public events were aimed at promoting civic affairs, enhancing citizens' willingness for participation, as well as strengthening relationships and networking among locally-based and national organizations.
At the five October events in Győr, Szeged, Pécs, Nyíregyháza and Debrecen, representatives of various, better-known and lesser-known organizations briefly presented the issues they were working on and their achievements, such as combating poverty, education, community participation, environmental protection, support of people living with disabilities or the rule of law. Not only national, but also local issues directly affecting the people living in the given cities were discussed with the active participation of the audience in the form of forum discussions, thus creating an opportunity for direct meeting and involvement.
